improving the lives of each child and family by providing family center Services and assistance!

Guided Supervised Visit program is a new innovative program offered in Polk County Iowa.  The GSV program utilized Masters level clinicians where staff utilizes a variety of skills and techniques in working with fathers to encourage positive interactions with their children.  Staff work to increase the Fathers knowledge and understanding of child development; increase involvement and interactions with the child(ren); increase sensitivity to babies cues; improve communication skills; and increase understanding of appropriate age/developmental play and discipline techniques.

These specialized Fatherhood classes are designed to help strengthen parenting skills and involvement of men who are living apart from their children. TFCS offers on-going weekly classes based on the National Center for Fathering  Quenching the Father Thirst along with the National Fatherhood Initiative 24/7 Dad curriculum where participants are offered support in such areas as health and nutrition, effective communication, being a positive role model, co-parenting, financial education and community resources.
